For Bookstores

Shipping: By default, domestic shipping is by USPS Media Mail. Some alternate shipping methods (e.g., UPS) are available by special arrangement. However, special handling charges may apply. We cannot ship via FedEx; also, we cannot use UPS Collect.

Returns: Our books are returnable for full credit (minus shipping), provided that books are returned in essentially new condition.  Scuffed or creased covers do not qualify as “new.”

Please fax your return authorization request to the fax number given here.  We will reply with the shipping address for returns, which is not the same as the order address.

Over-ordering:  We have found that most bookstores over-order and often have to return half or more of the copies they received.  This is most likely because they don’t allow for the number of copies that students will inevitably purchase online or from other sources.   It is wasteful of both labor and shipping to have to send books on a two-way trip; moreover books frequently return to Sundog Publishing too shelf-worn to be resellable as “new.”  Bookstores that consistently over-order may be subject to restocking fees.

Purchase orders: We accept purchase orders from established bookstores with a history of prompt payment.  First-time orders, especially from foreign customers, may require prepayment.

Contact: We accept purchase orders and inquiries via fax or e-mail. See contact info here. Telephone calls are accepted for general messages and inquiries but should not be used for placing routine orders if either of the other two methods are available.

Special notes for foreign booksellers

Shipments directly to foreign addresses will be charged the above per-copy price plus shipping by USPS Air Mail. Single-copy shipping costs to overseas addresses are typically $12 to $15. Per-copy shipping costs drop dramatically with larger shipments; therefore it is advantageous to order multiple copies at one time whenever possible.

Import duties and similar fees imposed by the receiving country’s Customs Office are the responsibility of the recipient. We can neither predict nor control such costs. We cannot issue credits or refunds for shipments that are abandoned in Customs due to non-payment of duties or similar problems beyond our control.

We recognize that prevailing textbook prices in some foreign countries are considerably lower than in the U.S. If you are a bookseller or distributor in such a country and are interested in placing an order for 10 copies or more, please contact us about discounted wholesale prices appropriate for your market.
